Personal Effects: Hannah Keegan
The Stylist features director loves Mastermind magazine, Davines hair masks and the Louisiana Museum in Copenhagen.
Welcome back to Late Filing and to another edition of Personal Effects. If you’re new here, Personal Effects is basically where I reach out to the coolest, most interesting women in my wider circle in London – people I think you should know about – and I ask them to tell me all their favourite things. It’s basically the Late Filing version of a Proust questionnaire and hopefully a chance for readers to discover a new vintage store or beauty product or restaurant. Past interviewees include a womenswear designer who makes all her clothes in London; a curator with an art history IG account that blew up over lockdown; the chief exec of a non-profit who used to be an elite swimmer; the head of modern and contemporary African art at Bonhams and one of the best-dressed women I know; and an FT HTSI editor with an eye for up-and-coming contemporary designers.
This month it’s Hannah Keegan, who is the features director at Stylist. Over the past couple years, the magazine has really levelled up its covers and its socials, and Hannah has had a hand in some of their most conversation-stirring stories. She also has the best style and a great sense of humour, and you should absolutely follow her on Instagram once you’ve read through her picks below.

Comfort dish A Sunday roast cooked by my wonderful aunt
PLACES
Dream London neighbourhood Stoke Newington. I live there, so I’m lucky.
Dream city to call home London. For a little while it was Paris, but then I got homesick.
Hotel The Hoshinoya in Tokyo
Unforgettable trip Los Angeles a few years ago – everyone insisted I’d hate it and so I was surprised by how happy I felt there, particularly when we drove out to Joshua Tree and spent the night in the desert. That, or the time my mum and I stayed at a very old-school spa on Margaret Island in the middle of Budapest and spent the entire weekend in robes.
Bucket-list destination Alaska
