A Spring Wardrobe Wishlist
What to shop for the new season.
Welcome back to Late Filing.
For today’s Friday feature, I’ve put together a spring shopping edit with everything arranged into outfits in case you’re in need of some inspiration. I’ll save you the long intro and let you dive straight into it.
Have a lovely weekend and see you on Wednesday with another Digest.

There are just a few of these Toteme knitted tanks left on Net-A-Porter – and they’re on sale. I’m obsessed with the shape. The coat is the same one from Barbour that I featured in The Digest a couple of weeks ago and because it’s so smart and so well-priced I’m flagging it again. I also love the cinched silhouette of this Victoria Beckham denim shirt, which is on sale – I’d pair it with a pair of dark jeans, like these ones from Frame, for an upgraded Canadian tuxedo.
Trench coat from Barbour £185 at Flannels (£260 everywhere else)
Denim shirt from Victoria Beckham £248 (originally £550)
Knitted tank from Toteme £174 (originally £290)
Jeans from Frame £255
Bag from Studio Nicholson £895
Silver-plated hairpin from Lié Studio £200
Mary Jane pumps from Aeyde £470
I bought this Rohé knitted tank in black in Liberty just over a year ago and it’s become one of the most worn pieces in my wardrobe because it layers well with everything and it’s polished enough for work, for dinner, for parties etc. Also in Liberty I tried on this Toteme T-lock bag (also in black) – it’s designed to look like raffia but it’s actually leather, and it comes with a strap that you can double up and shorten to make it the perfect length. The umbrella is by London Undercover, who have a lovely shop on Lamb’s Conduit Street. I actually featured this in the autumn wardrobe wishlist, and I’m sharing it again because I still think it’s the most beautiful umbrella in the world.
Coat from Joseph £1,045
Knitted tank from Rohé £190
Bag from Toteme £1,130
Trousers from Proenza Schouler £358 (originally £795)
Umbrella from London Undercover £85
Trainers from Nike £119.99
My Wales Bonner track jacket (bought with a generous discount when I worked at Mr Porter) is one of my most prized possessions, and I’ve got so much use out of it that I like to think it’s paid for itself. If I’m not wearing it with the matching bottoms, then I tend to balance it out with something smart and tailored – here I’ve gone for a pair of pinstriped trousers. The loafers are from Rejina Pyo and happen to be a great dupe for The Row.
Track jacket from Wales Bonner £403 on Farfetch (£595 everywhere else)
Tank top from Cos £15
Glasses from Cutler & Gross £325
Pinstripe trousers from Massimo Dutti £69.95
Bag from Studio Nicholson £895
Loafers from Rejina Pyo £325
The Belgian brand Kassl Editions is one of my absolute favourites for outerwear – they do these bomber jackets in a few different colours, and I also love their boxy rubber coats. If I had to design my perfect white T-shirt, it would be this one from Flore Flore, with a slight V and a ‘baby tee’ fit (but not too tight or too cropped). Also these pleated trousers from Theory: I’ve owned them for a while now and they are the closest thing to perfection I’ve found in terms of fit. My tip would be to ignore the sizing completely and go by waist measurement instead.
Jacket from Kassl Editions £690 (one left in S on Farfetch for £494)
T-shirt from Flore Flore £85
Trousers from Theory £380
Sunglasses from Victoria Beckham £200
Bag from Dragon Diffusion £440 (on sale in black on Farfetch for £312)
Trainers from Wales Bonner £550
I pretty much only buy shirts from WNU because the quality for the price is unmatched. They do a seersucker style that you can wear in the city (maybe layered over a tank and under a leather overshirt) but also throw over swimwear on holiday. (If it’s sold out in your size, keep an eye out as they’re likely to restock towards summer.) French brand Rue de Verneuil is my go-to for beautifully made canvas tote bags: I bought one directly from France during the pandemic and have got lots of use out of it. (Fun fact: Rue de Verneuil is the street that James Baldwin lived on in Paris.) Also, it’s never too soon for white jeans. These ones are my favourite style from Frame, the Slim Palazzo.
Leather overshirt from Joseph £1,295
Seersucker shirt from WNU £100
Sunglasses from Victoria Beckham £200
Halter top from Tank Air £125
Jeans from Frame £260
Tote bag from Rue de Verneuil £295
Ballet flats from Soeur £280
A few weeks ago, I recommended the Rains Nara coat, but I also love their practical-yet-chic Suva trench (the hood is detachable). The cardigan is from the highly underrated Samsoe Samsoe – I’d wear it with a white T-shirt layered underneath. The jeans are the same Belem style from Jeanerica that I recommended in this week’s Digest, just in black. And I’ve had various versions of this Proenza bag in my Net-a-Porter wishlist over the years, but I especially like how this green automatically brightens up a neutral outfit.
Trench coat from Rains £289
Glasses from Cutler & Gross £325
T-shirt from Flore Flore £85
Jeans from Jeanerica £220
Cardigan from Samsoe Samsoe £170
Handbag from Proenza Schouler £1,045
Trainers from New Balance £100
